The National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) is hosting the National College Fair in Austin on Wednesday, April 19 at the Palmer Events Center in Exhibit Hall 1-2, 900 Barton Springs Rd, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Free and open to the public, National College Fairs allow students to interact with admissions representatives from a wide range of postsecondary institutions to discuss course offerings, admission and financial aid requirements, and college life in general.  Over 250 colleges and universities are scheduled to participate. Free registration is now open to students and parents:  https://www.nacacfairs.org/attend/national-college-fairs/austin-college-fair/. When an attendee registers, they will receive a barcode.  When printed and brought to the fair, it serves as an electronic ID so attendees avoid wasting time filling out inquiry cards.
Explore England info session
Students: Interested in studying in England for your university experience? Representatives from five English universities-Northumbria University, Lancaster University, The University of Manchester, Keele University, and University of Birmingham-are visiting LASA on Wednesday, April 19 to present information about the differences between UK and US University study, advice and guidance on applying to the UK, and information about their respective universities. They will host an information session for interested juniors at 10:30am-if you would like to attend, please RSVP via Naviance: http://connection.naviance.com/lasa. They will stay through lunch (11:20am - 12:15pm) to talk to interested students from all grade levels.
College Admissions and Scholarship Reporting: Seniors-as you receive notification of college admissions decisions, please report this information in your Naviance account or email jamie.kocian@austinisd.org.  Also, don't forget to submit to Ms. Kocian ALL OFFERS of scholarships or financial aid award packages you have received (either bring in copies or scan and email) even if you do not plan to accept the award or attend the college.  This is important as we are tracking this information for institutional and district research.  All scholarship offers in the amount of $10,000 or more per year will be listed (scholarship award name only, not the monetary amount) next to your name in the graduation program.  The deadline to submit scholarship for inclusion in the graduation program is Friday, April 21, 2017.
